Web 2.0 Introduction

It is very exciting to learn about web 2.0.
Web.2.0 is a very powerful tool for women locally and internationally to interact. It creates a platform for women to engage among themselves on issues that matter the most.

It being women- to women- concept it brings out clearly issues close at heart of women.
The fact that it believes in women capability.” Which we are all not born with journalist knowledge and skills but through Web.2.0 we are can be journalist”

The other thing that excites me is the aim of web.2.0 to ensure that women actively participate in media, ensure that women are key decision makers and reduce gender stereotyping in media through engaging grassroots women.

The fact that it is an online safe space for all women to interact and share personal stories. Where women willingly volunteer their stories and also interact with other from all over the world. It is owned by women for women empowerment.
The fact that it gives women the ability to travel through personal life journey, through storytelling and writing excites me a lot.

Web 2.0 will bring, women –media solutions .Ability to fight gender stereotyping and discrimination. Ensure that women given equal opportunity to publish stories that are of significance to them ,sensitive to their issues and that are developmental.

It will also ensure that women full and actively participate in media activities and campaigns .It will bring technology and media close to the women.

It will enable women to amplify their voices, develop networks, and collaborate with other change-makers around the world.

Yes, it is going to be empowering to me .I will be able to get skills, knowledge and ideas on how to better engage adolescent girls in media/Tell their stories. It is going to give me the much needed skills I can pass to other grass -root women and girls
