my first...just a dream I had.

This is my first personal post; I have been reading and commenting in many of your incredible stories, but I felt like I didn’t have anything more personal to say. Suddenly this happened and I just had the need to share it with all of you.
This is a dream I had last nigh:

Everything was dark. I see a door in front of me, I walk toward it and I open it.
I was at a war zone, don't know exactly where.
I being to run being persecuted by two different armies.
It wasn't only me, there were others; some were familiar faces my subconscious pulled in to fill out the bodies that were running next to me, other were faces I haven't seen before, or that I least I don't recognize. I wonder if I'll meet them one day.
As I was running for my life I could see all the destruction around me.
I could hear gun shots being fired and bombs dropping near me.
I stop next to a person whose face I do not recognize, but I know he is a friend, he is wounded and as I hold him close I can see the life abandoning his body. He dies in my arms and as I dry the tears from my eyes I see in front of me a child of about 12 years old being shot by a soldier.
I don’t understand.
After a chaotic escape I finally reached a basement where I was hiding. Exhausted, I fell asleep looking out through a chip in the wooden door that separated me from them. I fell asleep, and I woke up.

Was a nightmare I don’t recommend anyone to have, still now, as I try to recover some of the pieces and images from some quick notes I wrote down to not forget, I can feel the confusion, desperation and pain I felt during the dream.

And what hurts me the most is that some people actually have to live though something like this, but they don’t get to wake up in the comfort of their homes like I did.

This is it. Thanks for reading.
Flor.
