An Appeal for Fundraising

Hello, and best wishes for the new year 2015.

With the help of mother Shujaa de Bakavu and under the supervision of Mme Neema Namadamu, I organized a training course for the women of Uvira last year during which more than twenty women learnt about new technology relevant to the website World Pulse. After this workshop, whereby repeated lessons received huge learning gains, more women attended and even a few men. Currently we have more than 30 people connected to the site. The problem now is that these women do not have computers to further practice their skills nor to publish their activities. Acknowledging this obstacle, the organisation Solidarité de Femmes pour l'Assistance et la Protection (SOFAP) has outlined an initiative to open a cyber café which will aid the women of Uvira and Fizi to share their views online – but this project currently suffers the necessary funding.
