GIVING GLOBAL WOMEN A VOICE ON THE WORLD PULSE BOARD OF DIRECTORS

INTRODUCTION

From our mothers’ kitchen to the bigger spaces, where women connect, it has a lasting impact. World Purse provides such kind of space where women learning from and working on their similarities and celebrating their diversity, create a force, which insulates them from vulnerabilities. This is no ordinary social network. It is space where women have an opportunity to be who they are, to rediscover themselves and redefine their destinies. It has indeed reduced distance on the world map for all women of different status, race, and creed to zero. This ‘inter-convergence zone’ is where women meet spiritually, politically, economically, socially, emotionally. This connectivity creates opportunities, not only for the women themselves but all women linked to them creating that web of opportunities. Through the same connection, it provides hope for the future of women because women, who share this platform, will transfer this knowledge to that younger generation, better equipping them to face vulnerabilities in combat. World Purse also help to magnify the contributions women are making in the world, amplifying their voices to resonate and break barriers.

MY VISION AS BOARD MEMBER

The role of a board member is to help sustain the initiative and provide direction, while promoting principles of good governance. I believe that I have what is required to become one of the people to serve women through pulse wire using my leadership skills and experience. I would want to share this opportunity to promote women’s connection at different levels. I strongly believe every woman has a voice. There are voices in us. The biggest problem is to bring out those voices to be heard by the right people. I would want to help redirect these voices to the rightful ears, for them to make sense and make change, to create space for the women, great and small. But as long as these women speak individually and only in languages known to them, no one will ever pay attention. Therefore creating an opportunity for a collective voice and in a language that all women understand, the resonance of that voice will break many barriers. For women numbers count!
My experiencing of working with women at different levels gives me an advantage of learning from experiences, anxieties and their capabilities. The voice that women all levels need is that voice to help them become front-liners in securing their own livelihoods. This is not the kind of voice that calls for ‘baby-sitting’ support but rather liberating women to enjoy their freedom to develop their own identities. Women need that voice that says ‘I am here and ready to occupy this space’. A voice that will help wake up consciousness to things that have so long trapped impeded on the attainment of their hopes and dreams.
I consider this therefore as an opportunity to use the boardroom as transmitter of women voices, as an interpreter of different philosophies, as unifying space for all women around the global especially those in less privileged situations, turning the boardroom into a choral workshop of voices across the globe.
