"VOF Week 1 (The Melting Pot).

As I type these words into my journal on line, I am filled with so much excitement that words cannot aptly describe how I feel. Journaling has always been my hobby.

I love to describe daily, the interesting, challenging and shocking sights in my community, the sounds of my environment and pour out how I feel exactly about some of the events and scenes of the day ( in a bus, at work or in the market place). However for all these years I have always done it in my diaries and it’s just for me!
What excites me most about Web 2.0 is that I now have a unique opportunity to share my experiences, ‘maadween” (thoughts/opinion), my dreams, doubts, fears etc with other women around the globe working around the clock to improve the situation of women and to empower them in all aspects of their lives.
It’s exciting because I am meeting women from different continents, with different skin coulours and cultures on this interactive media community Again,. Web 2.0 does not discriminates and it has opened widely its doors to al women-young, old, rich, poor, black, white etc. What more could be more exciting than this?

This platform provides me with a wide range wealth of information and perspectives from different women. Every day, there is something new about women’s issues not only to read but to learn! Personally that is an eye opener and it means a lot me as young woman advocate passionate about addressing issues that affect women and desire to see positive changes in women’s lives.
I think that Web2.0 guide women to find solutions to emerging and growing challenges that beset women’s empowerment movement and women’s optimum development. Through this medium, women are able to bring together ideas for their proper development and empowerment. They are able to network and partner with each other where and when necessary.

Personally, Web 2.0 empowers me with the information I get daily. The new and diverse perspectives from the different fields of work of women is worth taping and using where and when necessary in my work.
The knowledge I gain from other women’s work, experiences, dreams etc challenge me to do more for young girls and women in my small corner in my own small way to improve the lot of many young girls. SO ON WE CONTINUE with 'the good fight'.
