VOF Week 2: (The Journey to the dreamland)

As a young woman passionate about women’s development issues, my eyes are always widely open to see, my ears ready to listen with rapt attention, my nose to smell issues that concern women and my heart to work with and for women especially young girls.

Day by day, week by week, month by month and year by year, all my senses are sensitive to opportunities available to discuss, find solutions and answers, to network in order to champion the cause for women so that they can be empowered in every capacity every where. It was during one of the moments that my senses were out on a hungry and curious search on the web that my eyes fell on an announcement posted on the website of “AWID’’ ( The Association for Women's Rights in Development-www.awid.org) about Pulsewire.
What inspired me to apply? I saw and smelled an opportunity to sign up and to commence a journey that will lead me to undertake some training, broaden my knowledge and horizon and above all to increase the volume of my voice on the diverse issues that affect today’s women especially in my community. Naturally I will not let opportunities easily slip through my short fingers and so I signed up waiting patiently to hear from the group and anticipating what lies ahead of this journey to voice out women’s issues through the senses and perspectives of women worldwide using web.

With a personal vision of “seeing a world where every young girl and woman will be assertive and economically independent”, this journey which I have began gives me the opportunity to air my views on issues that concern women locally and globally. I also have the opportunity to connect with other women and to learn from their experiences, their dreams and desires to touch and transform lives, and to change destines.
I believe that this journey fit into my personal vision in everyway-from the personal story of the founder of Pulsewire, to reading the dreams, desires, visions and experiences of other women on this community I have already been inspired (and I know I will be inspired daily to believe in my dream and vision for girls and women), I have already gathered a wealth of information, I have met other women who share my vision and mission which is very challenging and inspiring.

This journey fits in my personal vision because I have just started a foundation to mentor young girls to be assertive and economically independent through education in my community.
So onward, we march to the dreamland of seeing a world fit for every woman at every place through the journey with Pulsewire!.
