Introducing myself and my journal: Changing the Face

About Me:
My name is Laura and I am passionate about seeing change in the world because change is always possible. I live in the South of the UK by the sea with my husband and I currently work for a medium size NGO based in London that funds grassroots projects all over the world, many of them empowering women. I also work as humanitarian photographer and writer and am currently spending all my spare time trying to develop my voice in both areas. I love the idea that digital media offers so many opportunities to everyone to tell their story in a unique and inspiring way and to me that is what the world is.... a lot of remarkable stories waiting to be told. I see a lot of darkness when I travel but what always seems to endure in that darkness is the fact that it sometimes only takes one solitary person to change the way they look at things to make a difference.

My Passions:
My faith, meeting new people globally, photography.

My Challenges:
UK issues around the cost of educating myself further, the issues I want to tackle are so big

My Vision for the Future:
That photographers and NGOs use images of others with grace, dignity and an informed attitude and that all people have an equal voice in this world.

My Areas of Expertise:
Development Education, photography, faith based approaches to change
