Once you find your voice it can not be silenced

Once I found my voice it will never be silenced. I am fortunate to have been born in the United States where the power of free speech allows private citizens to have a say in how their country is run. With the recent election, our country has been taken over by narrow- minded people who are mostly white people who hate anyone who isn't white. (and I'm white) I'm sorry to say this but it's true and that doesn't sit right with people who think like I do. Who believe the greatness that is the USA is because of the mix of people where it doesn't matter what color skin they have. There are many who disagree with me, who "want their country back" and they will do whatever they can to stop diversity. It's a mean-spirited attempt to turn American's against each other.

This alt-right movement is home to nationalists and white supremacists, who think that the white race is allowed to lord over people of color. They also don't want women to be empowered nor to be paid equal pay. This group of tea bagging, white people who want to run the show in Washington. Who want to ban people because of their religion, who want to undo everything President Obama has accomplished are downright mean.

To the 45 percent of women who voted for this man, I say, how could you forget all the bad things he has done and said against women? Are you saying you could over-look them enough to vote for this man? (and I'm a woman)

Trump mocked disabled people (and I am disabled) and to this day hasn't apologized. He called women dogs, and slobs and allegedlysexually accosteda dozen women. He's a man who won't apologize for anything.

The progressives in our country have got to rise up and resist this movement, that I think could destroy all the progress that has been made in America since the 6 0's. The equal rights for people of color, the trend of moving away from fossil fuels to clean, cheaper alternative energy, are at risk with this presidency.

Donald Trump is not the voice of America, at least not the majority. He bullies and lies and does whatever he has to do to get his way. It's like having a 15-year-old teen in the White House. This is serious, we are becoming the laughing stock of the world. No one wants to address the 600 lb. gorilla in the room. No one wants to tell him that he's like the Emporer with no clothes. People have got to rise up and stop this nonsense before something bad happens.

The divisiveness and hatred that this President has caused is unprecedented. The people of my country will do the right thing, to vote out the alt-right people in Congress and in the White House.

It's going to be a long four years but I am willing to keep voicing my opinion. Not one man can change the minds of millions of American's who want a kinder, gentler
