A Fork in the Road

Although forks in the road of life are common, we rarely welcome them. Generally we would rather plod along than veer off in another unknown direction. But, as stressful as the circumstances that cause a change of course can be, the results can be incredibly rewarding. If I hadn’t gotten laid off (in a horrible economy with no prospects of getting a job), would I have decided to start this project? Highly unlikely. I’ve thought about doing something to help women in developing countries for, oh – about 20 years. But my life was always busy and full with the kids, work, family, returning to school, etc.

So, this fork in the road literally turned out to be a dinner fork – pointing the way to helping marginalized women around the world through cooking. Life is funny, isn’t it?
