Introducing myself and my journal: A Grandmother Speaks for her Grandaughters

About Me:
I am a mother of four and grandmother to eight. My fourth child is a man of color and was adopted at 6 weeks of age. He is now a father. My other son married a Peruvian woman and Spanish is the first language of this family. Their four children are bi-lingual. My oldest daughter and her family lived in Mexico for 2.5 years so their children (3) could learn Spanish. Her son has studied and traveled in Europe. Her youngest daughter is studying 4 languages and her sister, who speaks English and Spanish was victim of sexual abuse at age 14. I love all my grandchildren deeply. Connecting with other grandmothers, hearing their family stories and becoming a link in empowering young women is my purpose in my later years.
