Myself and I: Arose!

Through the toils of growing up, the tough love I endured and yet still cherish- to the long nights of reading books for my grades to be better: only to be caned by the teacher because I didn’t try enough to make it the best in class.” Must I be number one all the time” I remember myself thinking as I sobbed and careless my inching buttocks.

I would say it was not easy: living expectations: from my teachers and family: but yet my heart still lived soft and my lips greased with a smile. The rituals I learnt from my family were- to love and share with others. This has been my driving force to always give a hand.

I met a community primary school from Mukono district whose kids didn’t t have scholastic materials: at the time: I dint have enough money: only a few shillings that I was keeping to spend at the university once called upon: I managed to buy a dozen of books: these lifted 24 children to writing in a 32 paged book: I know it was not fulfilling all their needs: but at least for 12 days: I knew they were writing somewhere: then I got more inspired.
In the same months, a 75 year old woman: who had never slept on a bed and mattress was profiled: she came from Serere community: Eastern Uganda. I wired my contribution for her comfort and this left me fulfilled for I had fulfilled her dream.
