Sexual Abuse 23 years old Zehra.

July 2007. Zehra is 23 years old married woman. She has one daughter at the age of nine and belongs to very poor family. This case is referred to helpline by myself. I have called upon help line’s manager to provide the 1st aid and help. However, Helpline manager was on his tour to Islamabad, but he still managed and arranged all the help by calling his regional director and helpline counsellor to meet and assist the victim that was referred to him. In fact this barbaric ‘Rape’ case have had happened to her two days before helpline notice. It was an afternoon time when, I went to Zehra’s home to find out the fact that had happened to her. After arriving at her home, I have found Zehra in loss of consciousness. She was almost in the state of corpse for two days before we arrived. Mean-while, I have constantly received calls from the helpline staff from the regional direct, managers and the counsellor for assistance and guidance. I was advised to rush Zehra to near by hospital that was Bolan Medical College and referred to one of gynaecologist Dr. Najma Ghafar. After admitting Zehra in the hospital though in about one hour time the entire helpline team has arrived in the hospital for assistance. Immediately, the entire team have started processing their activity by arranging medicine, doctors and the bed for 1st aid. Zehra was taken with well care by all the hospital and hipline staff. This routine went on for several hours until she start gaining her conscious back. At 1st and 2nd round of her consciousness, she was still found in deep shock and not recognizing any one but yelling for help. In this shocking moment she could only recognize her uncle and no one else. Zehra was not eaten for three days. In this particular day Zehra was taken well care and provided love, care and nourishment by the family member and helpline staffs. It was in the evening when Zehra had completely gained her conscious and recognising every member of her family that were around her all time. Zehra’s 1st move was the most concern object to help line’s staff.
After gaining her conscious back completely that at 1st she was in state of deep shock and fear and just wondering. Though gradually, she had improved her possession from shocking, and this gave great judgement to helpline staff to move forward and share the compassion with her. Help line’s soft and gentle voice was great moral support to Zehra in all means. The entire help line’s staffs and her family member’s love and soft spoken encourage, Zehra to lift herself up from the bed and sit in which she did well. She is describing that the incident took place with her was at 2.30pm afternoon when she was retuning her home from her relative’s home that suddenly a yellow cab had stopped next to her in the middle of the road and asking her some personal quotation. Indeed her answer to them was rude and continued moving towards her home, she did not even cross few meters that again the yellow cab stopped next to her. At this time there were two guys who came out from the cab and pushed Zehra forcibly into the cab where two other guys including the driver were already in.
