I am a young social Entrepreneur with a Bachelors degree in Development Studies and a post graduate training in Leadership and Social Entrepreneurship. This is an opportunity that i will forever treasure and pray to be accessed by my other sisters in the marginalized world.
Growing up from the red light area of Kabalagala-Makindye Division,Kampala District - Uganda exposed me to viewing prostitution its short and long term effects from an up close! I must confess the many unbearable challenges, insults, misjudgments, inaccessible opportunities, unheard voices and the social disclaiming attitudes that i faced and my sisters in the red light areas still face.
This inspired me to take a career root in community development as one of the few Alumni s of the red light society. I have been able to start up a project "Rhythm of Life" that will focus on providing the many social services that i missed out and to also transform the fate of HIV positive female sex workers and their respective daughters in the red light areas of Uganda. Empowering them to raise their voices in awareness of their health rights and their daughters as ambassadors against stigmatisation, judgmental societies and all kinds of unfair treatment they usually face from our very own community. I strongly believe in education as a key of positive and sustainable development in the red light area, its my greatest strength of helping the young girls (daughters of sex workers) access this education that seems limited to them in order to change the next generation and also transform the ceasing of the sex business trend from one generation to the other through mother-t-daughter.
