My Triathlon Dream is On Track

I remember the day I arrived at U-Turn and saw the above sign. I keep meaning to work with boys and young men. There are times I end up biting way too much than I can chew. Most times, I feel overwhelmed and want to give up - and walk away from all of it. My work being what it is, it is a journey of faith that is kept intact by prayers.

This year, I decided to raise funds for my work through running half marathons. With time, running became something I enjoyed doing as opposed to being a way of raising funds. As time went by, my running shoes got ruined beyond repair and I wasn't able to run for over a fortnight.

I was also on the verge of kissing my dream of doing a triathlon goodbye when I remembered to ask God for a bike and a new pair of running shoes. That was my prayer this morning. Later on, I left to meet some clients of mine. Then Michael Maranga Owora called to say he had a surprise for me.

Little did I know I would be coming back home with a mountain bike and a new pair of shoes courtesy of Team Tri Fit. After piecing the bike together, I rode for 4 kilometres. I still have lots of things to take care before the triathlon event on September 4th.

Getting the bike and a brand new pair of shoes is the beginning of my new journey. I don't know what God has in store for me, I can't fathom all of it. my imagination is way too limited for it. But I know God has lots of sweet surprises a long the way for me.

I also know He has got my funding needs covered. As I go to bed tonight, I can't help but reflect on God's abounding love, goodness and mercy. Tomorrow, a new journey beckons ahead as I continue pursuing my dream and goal of turning Lifesong Kenya into a self-sustaining organization. ‪#‎ItsDoneinJesusName‬ ‪#‎TheMakingofJimButtons‬ ‪#‎LifesongKenya‬ ‪#‎RunningforMyLife‬
