Introducing myself and my journal: Visible Impact

About Me:
I am a leadership coach with a passion for helping people communicate and understand each other - particularly across cultures. I grew up on a small dairy farm in Vermont (north east US) and our family was a host family to international students. This was my first connection with a wider world than my own and it started me on a path to always be interested in learning more about people around the world.

I have had a very circuitous path in my career, first working in educational exchange programs (the most powerful experiences I had had and I wanted to help others have the same), to leading white water rafting trips, hiking and biking trips in Europe and educational travel trips for non-profits. I came into leadership coaching after business school when I worked at the Institute for Women's Leadership. I worked with a coach as part of the company benefits and I knew that it was what I wanted to do. I hadn't really known the role existed before that.

I then went to a coaching school and started working more with leaders. I had an opportunity to move to India to help leaders there work well with their colleagues in the US and I couldn't pass up the adventure. That role led to many years working in a cross-cultural consulting company helping people communicate better across cultures around the world yet mainly between the US and Asia.

I now have my own business coaching leaders in corporate and non-profit organizations. I love the work that I do and find it so inspiring and humbling to see the way people continue to grow and develop to make a difference in the world.

I love the outdoors, hiking and camping, being in the mountains, spending time with my family (my husband and 3.5 yr old twins Charlie and Ella), being with good friends, having quiet time for reflection and just being.
