Introducing myself and my journal: An ever-evolving journey helping women and children

About Me:
I am the Co-Founder and Executive Director of Project Somos Children's Village Guatemala. I founded Compassion Fruit Society (the Canadian Non-Profit which oversees Project Somos) in 2002 after travelling and volunteering in India with my then, 14 year old daughter, Meg. Since then, I have been committed to making a difference in the lives of vulnerable children and mamas.

I have worked as a doula, childbirth educator, infant massage instructor, homeschooling consultant, special events organizer, homeopath, entrepreneur and as the community development coordinator for the Vancouver Folk Music Festival. I consider myself a life-long learner and always have a stack of books within easy reach as I explore and study any number of topics!

I love reading, cycling, playing with kids and sharing delicious homemade meals with friends. I love dogs and have four rescues which provide endless laughs and awesome photo opportunities!

I have always been a city girl but am now loving country living and farm life in the Central Highlands of Guatemala!

My Passions:
Connecting with people and connecting people.

My Challenges:
Not enough time to accomplish all that I'd like to!

My Vision for the Future:
A world where all children have the necessities of life and opportunities for a healthy, happy life with access to information and education.

My Areas of Expertise:
Working with women and children, non-profit management, healthy living.
