"This is not opportunistic rape; it's a strategy"

This is the first time I've ever, ever been actually brought to tears when writing anything. Today I was writing about a report from MSF which says that mass rape has become an emerging strategy in the war in the DRC. Time and time again, women are forced to bear the brunt for a war that is nothing to do with them. Particularly heartbreaking is the story of the woman who was forced by soldiers to choose between being raped or her husband being killed. She chose to be raped; he left her soon afterwards anyway, saying she was "unclean".
