All kinds of traditional media in Sudan are subject to censorship by the government and therefore it is not possible to obtain true information or to inform people the truth through it , Web 2.0 works as a neutral source (is likely the truth and falsehood certainly), but not under control, for example the Sudanese journalist Lubna Ahmed Hussein, was tried on charges of wearing trousers, an activist established a cause on face book about and put all the information their; in a very short time thousands of supporters joined the cause to change the law and stop the trial structures.

On the other hand Web 2.0 provides the possibility of monitoring and documenting human rights violations and let the world know and have the possibility of taking a positive attitude against the violations.

Compared to the ability of Web 2.0 to contribute in changing the authoritarian regimes that lasted for decades, Web 2.0 can play a very important role to the global women’s empowerment movement, beginning with defining it the world out and gain international solidarity and support, highlighting the contributions of scientific, literary and practical for women from different countries and in different areas; that a thing can be not insignificant in countries that do not give the women all their rights and treat them as second citizen. Also, the networking between women’s movements throughout the world allows the exchange of experiences and benefit from, as happened in Sudan when a campaign was organized to change the rape law after being identification of the experience of Pakistan that have succeeded through the network known as women living under the Muslim world.

For me it allows a free space to express my opinions in free environment, as I can work as a citizen journalist, as well as I can do the networking and advocacy of various human rights issues in Sudan. Also by giving me the opportunity to receive electronic training material and trainings that are not expensive and by specialized institutes.
