Ritual Slavery

Why should any woman have to go through something like this? This is a gross violation of Human Rights. A practice already outlawed, yet continues. Women and young girls are routinely turned into slaves in the name of religion and tradition. Why does Indian culture condone these unspeakable acts of gender-based violence against women?
