Protection of the environment

The need for the protection of the environment can no longer be overemphasized, hence, the urgent need for the protection of the environment.

Damaged environment brings about unhealthy people, in turn unhealthy people breeds unhealthy, unhappy children and they in turn produces unhealthy behavior and attitude which in turn transforms the environment to unhealthy community.

What are some of the things that damages the environment? Knowing the root causes leads to solutions to protect the environment.

1. Improper gas disposal: This releases hydrocarbon fluids which damages the air overtime.

2. Improper waste disposal: I remembered when I was returning from a journey. Some of the passengers bought some snacks. The bus had no waste basket. The driver was insisting that people should throw the waste out through the window. Can you imagine such attitude?

3. Overfilled gas tank: This also is dangerous as it releases hydrocarbon and other harmful toxics into the air.

4. Burning of yard waste: This releases molds spores, sooths and other contaminats that can aggravates allergies and cause respiratory problems.

5. Deforestation: Lack of trees or cutting down the existing ones: This reduces oxygen absorbance.

Protection of the environment:

1. Proper recycling of gas and other chemicals to reduce air pollution.

2. Proper waste disposal: Having a waste basket properly labeled in the buses, airplanes, train etc and their walk ways can help.

3. Don't top off your gas tank. Over filling the gas tank can release toxics which can be harmful to both the body and environment.

4. Burning of yard waste:To reduce respiratory disorders.

5.Planting of trees: This should be encouraged as it absorbs carbon dioxide and releases greenhouse gas.

Other protection strategies:

Painting your house: Use of latex paint instead of oil paint is recommended.

Grow Your Own Food. Having your own garden is a great way to eat organically, avoid genetically modified foods, and reduce the need for polluting farming equipment and substandard irrigation methods.

Buy Sustainable Products. When growing your own food isn’t an option, you can let your money speak for you. Buying sustainable products is a great way to help the environment.

Supporting your local farmer’s market, only purchasing items that you need or repairing items that you already have, buying reusable or recycled products, and investing in appliances with EnergyStar ratings are all great ways to buy sustainably.

Recycle. Recycling is a classic way to help the environment, but not many people know exactly which items can be recycled. Glass, newspaper, aluminum, steel cans, plastic, food and yard debris (compost), corrugated cardboard, motor oil, and batteries are all items that can be recycled.

Reuse. Simply reusing old items can help protect the environment. Glass containers can be used for storing food or other items, cereal bags can be used in place of Ziploc bags, and old or unused items can be sold in a yard sale; it’s about finding alternative uses for items so that waste can be reduced. The Takeaway

The state of the environment is one of the most pressing issues of our time. You can make an important impact with small changes designed to minimize your consumption and waste. And even though you’re just one man, other guys are sure to take note of your good actions, resulting in a domino effect that will magnify the benefits of your behavior.

The last but not the least: Training: Information is power.

A safe, healthy environment produces happy healthy people freed from unnecessary illnesses.
