I am an open minded person interested in issues of women. I believe that woman has the key to a better world.
I’m the Executive Director and Founder of Alias-Women Our Roots (AWoR in Uganda Our vision is having a community where women and girls are leading and influencing development change in their lives, households and even communities.
I have a conviction that everyone is a leader in their own capacities, positions and status. Therefore the need to nurture these leadership values and virtues in women to awaken the individual wherever they are to participate in leading the change they want to see is something I value.Sometimes we don’t take the initiative and action because we feel we are not the leaders to influence change. So, until we realize that each of us is a leader in our own capacities, in our own status and our own positions, then you can be moved to lead the change. This calls for every woman every woman to realize that she needs to lead and motivate herself into action.
Therefore, leadership is a key principle that AWoR is nurturing in women to be able to influence and propel development in their lives, family, households and to a greater extent the communities they live in as an approach to propel women to take action for development.
Iam here to network, contribute and build my capacity to achieve this course. I am involved in working with young people and women to empower them with knowledge and skills to make appropriate decisions regarding their sexual life; mentoring; financial literacy; home management; promotion of education for girls and skills development among others.
