Introducing myself and my journal: The World In My Heart

About Me:
First of all, I would like to express myself as an active citizen from a developing country. I am regarded as a clever daughter and also a beloved and reliable sister of two younger sisters. As well, I am used to be a trustworthy and helpful friend and colleague in my social and professional life.

I love traveling, photographing, reading books, making friends and learning new things. I am crazy about variety of nature.

Academically, I studied Information Technology at the university. When I was in my second year at the university, at the holiday, I joined a volunteer-based social group and I found out that what I am really interested and what I really want to head throughout my life. From that time on, professionally, I have become a social worker in development field till now.

In May 2009, eight energetic and socially minded youths including me established an organization named Metta Moe Myanmar. Our Vision is to be a change agent which can create an equal and sustainable development through the unity of youths. What we initiate and organize is education for children, community mobilization, capacity building programs for youths, health care and psychosocial support for the needy community.

I’m also working as a part time peer supervisor in an American based psychosocial support organization. My duty and responsibility are to educate local professionals and the community about mental health and trauma related problems and to support and educate affected individuals.

Another issue I am strongly interested is youth and active citizenship. It is a very crucial and must-know subject in a country like Myanmar, which is in very long dictatorship and lack of democracy. I try to contribute some of my time with CEDeN, Community Education Development Network as a citizenship education trainer.

Actually, I have lots of interests in variety of issues. Community development, better social welfare and services, children and education, health care, psychosocial support, youths capacity building, citizenship, gender equality and women empowerment, environmental sustainability are the areas I would like to devote for the development of the needy communities. I have a plan to study public policy or public administration as a master degree in a very near future.
