Introducing myself and my journal: Care is Like Water

About Me:
I am a nurse and an anthropologist who has been thinking about, writing about and studying care, woman's work, and the uniqueness of women's ways of working for 30 years. I live on an island called Whidbey Island in the far Northwest corner of Washington State on a small forest farm where I live with my spouse, MK Sandford. We raise ducks for eggs and work within our local community to strengthen our self reliance and connection with other local communities around the world. I also teach Global Nursing online for a college in New Jersey. I am delighted to have found this site and to connect with women around the world.

My Passions:
Women, their work, their lives, their knowledge, their loves.

My Challenges:
I'm running out of time.

My Vision for the Future:
Women everywhere will have what they need to nurture the lives within their reach.

My Areas of Expertise:
community organizing, nursing, writing, editing, biology, care, women's work
