"A Love Letter"

“A Love Letter”

It has been said that the person receiving this letter will be my mentor. As I do not yet no your name, for the purpose of this letter, I will call you Mel.
First of all Mel, I’ll tell you about myself. I am Ivaldete, as you may already know. I am 41 years old and the mother of four beautiful children and the grandmother of seven grandchildren who are my lion cubs, whom I speak of, ofcourse, with great love.

I speak of my life, which I believe is a love story involving my children, my grandchildren, my work and God, who I love most in this life. I love God, my family and my work above everything and everything I make, I make with love and care. Every piece of art I produce has a little something to say about the story of my life and I continue to imagine the future I desire for me and all of my family.

I am a protector, a romantic, attentive and caring. Each person that knows me or buys my art senses that it is made with love and caring and a lot of dedication. Sometimes I can see this in their eyes when they buy my work, admiring it with a loving expression. As if it was a perfect meeting.

Mel, I am here longing to write and remember the fantastic moments in my life. I never tire of telling my kids every day that I love them more than anything and they also tell me this in return. And so this is me, for me to be more in love would be impossible!

I am also sincerely in love with this work that I see being made with World Pulse. You have all inspired me so much with my own work. I have made many journeys in my thoughts, thinking about the possibility, who knows, of being able to travel for the first time in my life. Not just any travel, but a journey where I can share my work and speak with other people, saying that independent of religion, we should believe that its possible for all of us to connect with World Pulse and be able to connect with the world. For this we have to have faith and hope.

I want to say that love is an enormous force that helps me live every day, when some days are not easy. I experience many difficulties in my favela and my house and its because of love that I have my art that continues insisting to me that I will get somewhere. The love I have for God and for my life is what makes me live all of my days intensely. The love I feel for my family is extremely precious, and it reminds all of us that love can lift us where we wish to be.
