Invitation to Submit your Application!

Hello!

Thank you for joining the group and showing interest in applying for the Cordes Fellowship to attend the 2010 Opportunity Collaboration in Ixtapa, Mexico.

World Pulse is excited to host this unique application opportunity in partnership with Opportunity Collaboration - who have opened up a fellowship spot for a member of the PulseWire community.

I invite you to submit your application today - it's simple! Write an essay (400-700 words) that describes your work as related to the theme: Empowering women in your community as a means to ending poverty. Be sure to include your organization's name and mission, and also share a true success story that demonstrates your organization's accomplishments. If your organization has a website, include the URL (web address) here as well.

Post your essay in the group journal and your initial application is complete! Also, be sure to update your PulseWire profile so that we have a sense of who you are as a person and as a leader in the women's movement.

I know that some of you are feeling hesitant about applying due to the cost of airfare, which is not included in the fellowship. While this is a major factor for some in participating, I encourage you to go ahead and apply anyway. Being selected is an honor in itself, and if you are selected, there are avenues you can explore for fund raising and travel grants.

We are thrilled to offer such an opportunity to our community and to have one of our own members at the conference representing the voices of women, as well as the idea that women empowerment is the key to alleviating hunger worldwide.

Thank you to Busayo Obisakin and Elisa Sabatini who have led the way with their application submissions. Let's fill this group journal with a true representation of the depth and innovation of ground shaking women and projects within our community!

In solidarity,
Jade
