Welcome to the Community Board Member Group!

Welcome!

It is exciting and powerful to look through the faces and names within this group and to feel the strong pulse of leadership in our community.

When the World Pulse Board of Directors first proposed this idea of creating a seat for a member of the PulseWire community to represent the voice of the global south - I felt such excitement and a sense of pride in knowing that one of you would have the opportunity to be that leader for our community. With your voices represented by a peer who is active and present at the boardroom table, our work together will become an unstoppable force for creating global gender equality! I get goosebumps just thinking about it.

I invite you to now take the next step and submit your application for World Pulse Community Board Member. Someone brought up an excellent point regarding submitting your bio/resume - in that it is not advisable to publicly share your resumes as they most likely contain private information.

I have changed the guidelines, which are also reflected on the group page:

  1. Applicants must submit an essay (400-700 words) describing their qualifications in relation to this year’s theme: “Giving global women a voice on the World Pulse board of directors.”

The essay should convey ideas on how the applicant would contribute to the effectiveness of World Pulse’s mission by serving as a direct link to the World Pulse community and ensuring that women’s voices are represented in the boardroom.

  1. Join the Group: Join here and post your essay in the Group Journal by clicking on the "Contribute" tab above.

  2. Prepare a bio or CV listing your qualifications, relevant experience and evidence of leadership. Email your bio or CV to Jade Frank, Online Community Manager at jade@worldpulse.com.

So rather than posting your bio/resume to the group journal with your essay, you should email them to me directly. That way your personal information is kept confidential, but your vision for bringing a voice to the World Pulse Board as written in your essay - is available for all to read, support and respond to.

I invite you to also post any questions below, as comments to this thread, and I look forward to reading your essay submissions and learning your vision for World Pulse!

In partnership,
Jade
