Week 2-VOF 2010

I got introduced to Pulse Wire by a staff of Women in Peacebuilding Network (WIPNET).I am a member of WIPNET-Nigeria.I first came in contact with WIPNET when i was invited to a workshop to develop a radio programme'Voices of Women'.Infact i got nicknamed jam_them because of my undetered passion to 'jam and crush' all challenges and barriers to women empowerment.Just like the name implies, the radio is indeed a voice for women.Issues affecting women and the way forward are discussed. It is also an avenue to celebrate women achievers. If we don't beat our drums, who would?
When i got the invitation to join Pulse Wire,i was abit hesitant, because i thought it was one of those talking drums without acton. But,after reading stories from other communities and how people from
different communities have helped in develping interventions,i knew that was the place to be.
For the Voices of our Future i applied our borders and network for action can be created. It is my vision that women in my community will stand up to their God given right as human beings made in the image of God and then as women. Not to forfeit their roles as mothers and wives, but to have equal opportunity to grow ,to attain self actualization and to be the wonderful 'helper'God created for the man in the garden of Eden....not from his feet to be trampled upon, not from his head to over power him,but from his rib ,to be by his side, working in harmony with equal opportunies to contribute their quarter for development.
