About Me:
Bio; Jan Porter

I am a Writer, published Author and Spiritualist Minister currently residing in the beautiful Kawartha's in Ontario, Canada. I have numerous inspiring books in the works and am currently editor and contributor to Mystical Voices magazine and contributor to other online e-publications.
My personal joy comes from writing, coaching, teaching, empowering and assisting many to live in joyful inspiration and assisting many to pursue their life and work aspirations in alignment with their soul path through writing, one-on-one consultations, groups, and events. As an ordained Minister and non-secular Writer, I include many world philosophies and traditions in my writing, coaching, ceremonies, consultations and workshops.
Each of us has a unique soul path and as such, is a unique expression of the divine, and my joy is in coaching others, providing meaningful significant life milestones and transitions as well as individual spiritual development. I provide integral spiritual consulting services to those who seek inspiration and insights, and while my certification is Spiritualist, I am open-minded interfaith and non-denominational.
Certification Highlights: A Licentiate Spiritualist Minister of the Centre for Spiritualist Studies Seminary, National Spiritualist Association of Churches in New York, USA; Therapeutic Touch & Reiki, Spiritual Healer; and The National Spiritual Healers Association of Canada.
Current Affiliations: The Writer's Union of Canada, Algonquin Arts Council

Writer/Author information: Originally a Hamiltonian, I first dabbled with short stories, articles and poetry in a secondary school newspaper. After many years of work in Human Services and raising children, I began to polish numerous works; children’s stories, a novel, media articles and marketing materials for other writers and artists.
As a former social services worker, career/life skills counselor and mother, I was moved to write my first book, 'The Way Out', an easy-to-read grassroots self-help book for survivors and those who support them. First published by Whale Publications in 1993, the Morris Pratt Institute, Milwaukee, USA has held publishing rights for use in their Pastoral Counseling course program.

Sharing"
When you stand and share your story in an empowering way, your story will heal you and your story will heal somebody else. These words, from writer and inspirational speaker Iyanla Vanzant, sum up the feelings of Lisa Browning, founder of One Thousand Trees, and the editor and publisher of an upcoming anthology of women’s empowerment stories.
SHARING: our stories, our selves, our success features 24 writers, a group of women from various walks of life, with different and yet very similar stories to tell ... stories of pain, struggle and courage; healing, hope and vision ... whatever has guided each woman on her journey to healing and wholeness, on all levels.
Many of the women have never met. Says Lisa, “Once the word got out, the project took off. Although the majority of writers are from Ontario, we are very fortunate to have participants from Australia, England, California and Arizona.”
The women are working together, from beginning to end, encouraging each other as they write. They are also sharing all costs, collaboratively promoting the book, and sharing in the profit of sales. And they are giving back. One of the most exciting aspects of this project is that 25% of the proceeds will go to charity. As a condition of participation, each woman was asked to select a charity, either in the area of women's empowerment, or simply one that has touched her heart and soul, and helped her on her journey.
SHARING: our stories, our selves, our success is scheduled to be released on December 6, 2013, in commemoration of the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women.
