The People´s Conference on Climate Change: International Interventions (Video Included)



In the second day of the event, the highlights include the participation of Berverly Keene, US born activist for human rights who lives in Argentina and who spoke at the conference today telling the story of an Indian leader who many years ago approached the UN with a letter, at the end of which he said: ---" The north has taken the resources of the south in order to advance ever since they got to this continent. We will not say it is a robbery, we will only say it was a loan, the problem is that the north, after so many years, still needs our resources, still takes away our riches, and does not recognize the debt..."



After telling this story, she went on to state that there is debt that the geological north needs to redeem, the challenge is to make our governments strong enough to ask for it to be honored, not only in terms of financial flows, but also in terms of reducing the harm done to nature now, not in the next bunch of years.
