Introducing myself and my journal: Set us Free

About Me:
I am a Decedent of African Slaves, I was born on the Island of Jamaica. My parents went to England in the late 1950's. where, me and my brother and sister joined them in January 1968,we went to school, college and university in England,I worked in Nursing, and Youth and Community Work in UK. I then went on to run my own catering business, and also worked as catering Manager for Local Authorities. I learnt about my History and the struggle of my People Slavery, discrimination etc, and was also feeling it in my life. In November 2000, I decided to back to Africa, I choose Ethiopia as I have hear of a Land that was granted to the descendant of the African Slaves, due to their fathers input in helping Ethiopia in her time of need, so the land was given as a gift for us to return an settle. On arriving in Ethiopia , I found that many African Decedent have returned some for over 40 years , I was happy here, I love the place, still do , I then found out my people were just living, developing the land, building schools, and a life for the local indiginus population and was still discriminated against, the could not get citizenship, some got resident some cannot, I was given the roll as British Consulate Warden to the British and Commonwealth Rastafarian residing in Shashemene Ethiopia, and also Secertary to The African Diaspora Rastafarian Community. I have had meeting with as far as the Prime minster Office to help, but always they say they are sorting it out.. Its now over 57 years The Community had been residing there and no solution has come as yet people die and bury their children and children are in the same boat, a child born in Ethiopia of Jamaican Parentage is not given citizen ship, and further more if they want to travel, they have to pay back visa, from the day they were born. truly displaced.I help to care for the Elderly Rastafarian some in their 90's, We the Community do everything possible to please the Authorities, but they only see us givers when they want something. The land that was granted to us, the local authorities is dishing it out to foreign investors..Why I am joining this group is to call out, I want to help the People more. I cannot do everything at once so I have taken three ares to raise funds for at present : 1. the ELDERLY- the elderly has no pension to come, and at the age of 70-90 they should not be out there looking for their next meal.I want to raise funds for the Elderly so they can have a weekly allowance to live on. 2. The WOMAN - the woman is working contentiously to take care of the household, I want to find funding for the woman to have a grant to set their business proper, given them access to business advise when they need it. 3. The YOUTHS- the youths of the African Decedent is in need of Counseling and skill awareness, they have a lot of skills but need to come together to utilize them. I want to raise funds to do a Youth Skill awareness week, this will help them to work in teams to achieve their goal, in taken care of themselves and their families. some of the youths don't know why they were born in Ethiopia, and their father is from Jamaica, Barbados, England, Bermuda, and other places. I would like to help my Community to make a standing Change.
