MY VOICE, OUR CHANGE

Growing up i asked myself a lot of times what my society expects from me as a girlchild other than domestic chores and someday child bearing, over and over again I noticed little was expected, as a young woman I have hoped for a better society where African women will be treated with respect . It always hurts when you are treated with so much sloppiness at offices and replied harshly and with no courtesy because you are a woman, having neighbors who beat up their wife's, listening to stories of rape and abuse and having to fight my way through life every day because I am a woman, yet I say to myself being a woman is the most amazing thing ever, despite all the struggles and challenges african women face especially as regards culture and tradition we are still standing strong.
 All the experiences I have had in respect to the hardship women face, has pushed me to contribute to women empowerment and the fight against abuse of any form of the female gender.
 I found world pulse in 2011 and everyday I find a reason to smile because as the days pass by more women are getting informed, more women are finding a place of solace and a lot more women are getting opportunities. I joined world pulse so I can be heard, so I can learn from other woman and share my experience and lend a listening ear to someone in need of help, but most importantly to be a part of change in my society.
The voices of our future is an important platform for learning and expression of views, I want to be a part of the network that brings hope to women globally. I want to contribute no matter how little, I want to be heard, I want to speak for those who cannot speak, I want to be the voice of my generation, I want to be the voice of the future, as a journalist I want to channel my energy to something fulfilling with my write ups and my stories, i want to see women attain greater heights in their communities.
