Introducing myself and my journal: Tetris

About Me:
I'm a grad student in Health Promotion at Portland State University, and a research assistant for the Institute on Aging. I came to this program with a background in journalism, education, sociolinguistics, and most recently, nutrition and teaching yoga. Originally, my sights were set on working with young women, but as I've learned from my job at the IOA, a multi-generational, life-course perspective is the way to go! My goal now is still to focus on women's empowerment, but with a more integrative, multi-faceted, multi-disciplinary approach.

My Passions:
family, travel, languages, meeting new people, dancing, yoga, cooking, sharing gratitude and trying to be a more compassionate person

My Challenges:
I want to do EVERYTHING and I can never focus on one thing at a time!

My Vision for the Future:
To empower women (and all people!) around the world to do what they love and believe in, and to live the healthiest, most fulfilling lives they can dream of!

My Areas of Expertise:
Expertise? Ha...well, I've somehow managed to learn Spanish pretty well. Other than that, I'd say I'm an expert in making mistakes, and fairly resilient at recovering from them. Eventually, anyway. :)
