Hats Off to Scott Beck + Other Thoughts for the Listener

Dear Voices of Our Future Listeners,

As I dove into my first assignment to evaluate, I was literally pulsating with excitement. As I clicked on the "link," I imagined the words of pure inspiration that would come next. And, then, blam! I was suddenly in the land of uncertainty. I was not even sure whether the member I had been assigned to had in fact done the assignment for Week One. The title was incorrect. There was zero mention of Web 2.0. Ack! What was I supposed to do!?

Each of us will likely face similar questions over the next four weeks. This is a journey on the frontiers of new media. The way is not known for us, but more poignantly, for the Applicants. Every uncertainty we feel, the Applicants likely feel ten-fold. It is not on accident that Scott has created a parallel process for the Listeners.

When any of us are faced with uncertainty, I encourage us to tap into the wisdom of this group to find our answers. If we have ideas to improve the process, post them! While we cannot guarantee every idea will be implemented, we can guarantee that every idea will be heard.

Scott has volunteered countless hours to develop both a comprehensive, yet simple evaluation process and a nurturing and supportive Listeners' Group. Hats off to Scott!

And by the way, what do I do if I am not sure that the journal entry I was given is actually the assignment?

In spirited partnership,

Jennifer
