Hola de Cuidad de Mexico!

Hello, PulseWire! I just wanted to give a quick update before Shawn and I take advantage of being in this amazing city and country before we have to fly back to Portland tomorrow.

The conference was awesome, totally awesome. There wer no lowlights, only highlights.

The biggest highlight for me was working alongside Leah and Anne-christine for a week. Leah is amazing and hard to keep up with. No one could say no to Leah and had we had a better set up and more staff, we could have signed up even more women on PulseWire. But between the two of us (and Anne-christine for part of one afternoon) we rocked the house.

Anne-christine was in her element as a journalist and activist. Everyone knew her and she always greeted everyone with a smile full of warmth and inclusion. She, too, was hard to keep up with... Leah and Anne-christine are such strong, courageous, intelligent and gifted women. I feel so lucky to have spent a week with them.

The second biggest highlight was being surrounded by so many courageous positive women and realizing that I did not even consciously realize that they were positive. The Global Village, where I spent 90% of my time, was a celebration of human spirit and a cacophony of voices rising up and asking for, no, demanding what they need to lead dignified lives.

Having Shawn and Jonah there was so rewarding and meaningful for me as a wife and mother. I know that for a lot of women to see a man at the conference in the Women's Networking Zone solely focused on watching a baby was inspiring. Shawn shared that when they were walking around handing out PulseWire postcards, it helped to have Jonah with him. Everyone came up to them to meet the baby.

Giving away the laptop to was Maria Luisa Gonzalez, Activista y Secretaria, Mexicanas Positivas Frente a la Vida (http://beta.pulsewire.net/user/532) on the last night was the cherry on top. She was the very last person we signed up at the conference. She was so excited. I look forward to getting to know her on PulseWire.

Muchas gracias,
Jennifer
