I worked with Harbour Center Cameroon as a project coordinator.
Since we were founded in 2009, we have been working youths and just last year, we assisted 19 girls and pay for their training fees in tailoring and provided start up materials for them to launch their personal businesses. See how Haggai Mulam who benefit from our work last year expresses her feelings with great joy, “for my first time, I am able to launch my own personal business as a seamstress; thanks to Harbour Center Cameroon”.
My working experienced with many under privilege girls and women shows that about 85% often would like to be involved in small businesses and unfortunately, they often lack the business skills to ignite and accelerate change in what they do. My intervention in their world is to help in bringing a meaningful transformation from a bottom top approach; incubating and training them with business skills for them to be able to express their full potentials even without a good educational base or a professional education. Why this intervention? When every one has food to eat, the world would be stable and it would be more stable when the under privilege is leading change in every community in the world; there would be greater access to education and good health for every one.
This year we are working hard to assist 100 youths to find true meaning of life and be of help to the rest of their families.
