Introducing myself and my journal

About Me:
I was born in Liverpool, England in 1966. I was growing up and vulnerable in the 80,s around a new fad drug called heroin. I became an addict at 18 and spent most of my adult live struggling with this horrendous addiction.
I got clean on 24th August 2007 and have been drug free ever since.
My addiction lead me down many wrong paths but getting clean helped me realise I wanted to put back into the community and in 2010 attended Sunderland University where I passed my diploma for substance misuse.
I work for a drug prescribing agency in Sunderland and I am wanting to develop a Womans group to help women realise that there is life after addiction and the world can be a better place.
I am grateful when I wake every morning without the pain and wanting of escape.

My Passions:
Walking my beloved dog Jessica

My Challenges:
A strong powerful Womens group

My Vision for the Future:
Drug free and trying to help others who are where I have been

My Areas of Expertise:
Non Judgemental, empathy, listening and being a womans woman!
