Introducing myself and my journal: Mapusha and Me

About Me:
I have jsut returned to Portland, Oregon after living for most of the last 10 years in South Africa, working with a women's weaving cooperative in a small village outside a black township. It was some sort of synchronicity that brought me there 9 years ago after a year of breast cancer treatment just when the 30 year old coop was about to go under. Regina always says it was the good Lord. I only know that they needed me and I needed them.
I worked with these women, their children and grandchildren until just a few months ago when I returned to Portland to create a teaching/counseling practice here once again. I miss Africa, I miss the women of the Mapusha coop. I don't know how to continue to work for the global connection of empowered women but that is what I believe in and this seems a first step, joining the World Pulse network.
