Hello World Pulse Community! My name is Megan Keaveney and I am a young woman passionate about women's rights and increasing our collective voices around the world. I'm half Japanese, half Irish and love reading about cultural perspectives, particularly women's perspectives. I am a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer and spent two years living in Jamaica. I have had the good fortune to speak to women in a variety of environments across many countries and think that World Pulse is a wonderful forum for women to share their stories and help us find community in the most unlikely of places.
I think often of this African proverb: "If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together."
It is through connection with others that we realize our shared humanity - and that connection can begin with something as simple as a story. people, exploring the world and other cultures, public health, social enterprise, and oral histories. Inspired by nearly everything. My inability to stay in one place for too long. But maybe that's not such a bad thing these days :) interpersonal and cross-cultural communication, HIV/AIDS prevention, knowledge management and communication, organizational development, workshop facilitation
My Vision for the Future
A world of equity for all, particularly women, in which we are free to discover their passions irrespective of societal gender norms, educational levels, or pasts.
