Introducing myself and my journal

About Me:
I grew up in the small town Bend, Oregon... though it's no longer very small but still remains quaint. After graduating from the University of Oregon in journalism, I waited tables so I could travel before "growing up." Now it looks as if it's time to start doing so and thus I just moved to Portland where I could explore more opportunities. I'm looking to volunteer, to get into publishing, to freelance write, to go to concerts, to try a new restaurant as often as I can afford, to go back to school, to network and make new friends, to fall in love and to eventually go on another trip! World Pulse is an incredible outlet for women like me who love reading and writing, international advocacy and women's empowerment and I hope to use it for networking and inspiration.

My Passions:
I love to travel, read, explore, hike, listen to and attempt to play music, educate myself and always always meet new people.

My Challenges:
Finding a job in a new city while still pursuing my personal goals: writing, getting involved in non-profit work, traveling somewhere new (India and Kenya are next on my list)

My Vision for the Future:
Work in publishing, volunteer, write a book, help to change our world and give people a more global prospective.

My Areas of Expertise:
Writing, stage performance, voiceover work, waiting tables!!! (Anyone know of a server job in Portland?)
