I help others realize relevancy and creativity in new and stimulating ways. I live in Technicolor. Why Technicolor? Most people see it as a technical process, I see that it as a process and a choice. An old-movie classic that is destined to be a dust carrier for eternity on life’s shelf, is carefully, lovingly chosen. The process of enhancing the frames requires patience, skill and a commitment. Frame, after frame, color is added to revitalize the movie in new stimulating ways. Great care is required because Technicolor enhancements can either enhance the experience or apply too much and the new perspective of color seems trite and manipulative. But, the impact of Technicolor cannot be denied. It has revitalized classics that encourages a story to be passed on to future generations and has revolutionized how we relate visually to everything from HD, 3D TVs, essentially ensuring Technicolor realizes its own relevancy.
BUT, living in Technicolor has its drawbacks. It’s fleeting. Once you’re told that this piece is new and improved with Technicolor, after about 2-5 minutes, that feature goes to the background. But for those 2-5 minutes, you watch this classic and go ‘OOO’ – ‘AHHH’ and you’re reconnecting to a classic in a new way. I'd like to explore how people are addicted to creating Technicolor moments where what we should strive to evolve into is creating meaningful and vibrant legacies.
