Rural Women in Azerbaijan: fighting family poverty and domestic violence

Women in rural areas of the Republic of Azerbaijan are fighting family poverty and enduring domestic violence, caused by their husbands, brothers and other family relatives. Every time I go to the village areas and witness how they drag a miserable existence. Cold houses, bad roads, lack of sustainable electricity, in most areas lack of gas, water shortages, otherwise dirty, contaminated water being used as drinkable drive me mad. Women clean houses, grow crops, build houses with men and sometimes fulfilling the hardest part of it, feeding babies, keeping the whole house, washing dishes, ironing husbands clothing etc. If a wife fails to do everything on time, then she is certain to be beaten and insulted.
I'm really sop frustrated at seeing how the women suffer. Most of them do know any rights, obey to their husbands and carry the burden, no human creature would be able standing for long. Men at all spheres dominate women. If she gives a birth to girl baby, men are so angry and ready to kill their wives. To be a woman in rural areas entails so bad consequences... Being born a woman is sin. Many husbands enforce the wives to make feticide. But never think, how fatal it can turn out to be for women. Just I want a boy baby, that's it. So bad habit! This can change, if relevant actions are taken to educate women, open employment places for them where they can earn and not depend on their husbands. Men can be educated that giving a birth to girl baby is wholly dependent on men, not women.
