Dear What am I to you?

As I sit here running my fingers through these keys
I wonder what should I say
when I would hear you ask one day," Dear what am I to you? "

The thought excites me. burns me with its warmth
I pause, I think , I go blank
I try to frame my words for you
search the best patters in which I should spell those words to you

Oh those words of which I have no clue,
I start searching for words,
I find one
that was easy
No. I stumble again, realize that wasn't easy at all

So I ponder hard
I try to relate you to the loves of my life
whom I name as mom, miya, maam and buwa
But no that wouldn't suffice
that would be no justice to them

So I search my words again,
you are my earth, my soil
on which I walk, run, stumble, fall,
jump, skip, swim and search
the soil, whose presence I hardly am aware of
taken for granted most of the time
most important of all my playground
my source of scars and joy

yes you are my earth
that keeps me warm and shows me my sky
