Heal The Women

Heal the women.
Give us space to spill out the blood that the world has made us hold
All the floodgates of repression and pain that the female body must endure
Free us from these shackles of patriarchal hate.

Heal the women; the planet needs us to be well.
There are Venuses walking the earth who have forgotten they are holy;
Not even temples are sparred.
We are ransacked, wrecked, plundered and damaged.
What do men hold as hold when an unspeakable amount of women are made empty sanctuaries?

Let us come forth
The bodies made battlefields by the raging wars in our collective consciousness
Let us speak

Heal the women
Pick us up, gather our pieces and study how we broke
So that we may vow, “Never again. Never the fuck again will we
Break our women this way.”
We’ve suffered countless nights living on the prayer of our ancestors
Knowing this charge was much bigger than us

I can still hear the earth tell me when I touch her with my palms,
“Remember I told you there would be days like this."

We feel death the way no one else does
We have wombs ripped open
Wounded fatally
Sacred spaces that kept us safe for 10 moons
Violently torn, raped viciously by those wishing to see us powerless

There is a deafening silence in our sorrow;
The sun does not even touch us.
Our darkness seemingly too hopeless to illuminate.

For the hopeful
Survivors made warriors
Smooth strong sturdy backbones of fighters
We will heal despite all the sickness wanting to murder us
You cannot cut all the flowers and think they will not bloom again.

Our cry is guttural
Visceral sound vibrating from the oceans in our bodies
We are quiet but never silenced
Our cry is rising like tidal wave
We will be heard
One by one
Heal the women.
