Ways of empowering women

Women are mostly taken advantage of by men due to the fact that they are financially dependant on men. From the previous research that I did on women participation married women who do not have income generating sources are financially dependent on men .This in turn would result in them being physically abused by men and being unable to negotiate for safer sex. Women highlighted that even if knowing that their husbands would be having extra marital affairs they can not negotiate for safer sex for fear of being chased out of the matrimonial homes. This then results in then contracting HIV and Sexually transmitted Infections.Empowerment of women therefore through education and awareness,income generating projects and Reproduction health eduaction can go a long way in enpowering women and hence reduce domestic violence.
