Coffee Hour: United Against Famicide



On December 30, 2010 (1530-1700) Lincoln Corner Karachi Pakistan hosted a networking coffee hour "United Against Famicide" to honor the Women rights activists here in Karachi. 15 NGOs were invited to participate. Branch Cultural Affair Officer US Consulate Karachi, Ms. Sue Harville graced the event with her presence.The LCK-Coordinator briefed the audience about Lincoln corner, an informal discussion on Human rights with everyday examples started with the short introductory session by the organizational representatives/heads.It was learned that Educaion with the right curriculum is the key for the betterment, while the effective rule of law can be a catalyst for change in current Human rights situation here in Pakistan. Lawyers, educationist, advocacy campaigners, human rights activists, journalists, minority groups and women professionals all stood united on violence against women (femicide). LCK Coordinator shared and invited participants to join global petition @ saynotoviolence.org.
