Introducing myself and my journal: A new journey

Lee Anne Barham

About Me: I am retired and facing a time in my life where whatever possible contribution I can make to help solve the world's problems is becoming increasingly more urgent to me. As an individual, I feel helpless to do anything about the deteriorating world political scene. But in learning about World Pulse, I feel very hopeful that all of us women supporting one another and working together, can actually have a real impact and influence on what is happening in the daily lives of people around the world.

My Passions: Public broadcasting, hiking, my grandchildren

My Challenges: inertia, insecurity

My Vision for the Future: not very hopeful right now; looking for a way to modify that

My Areas of Expertise: interviewing and writing up summaries of those interviews

    Welcome Lee Anne!

I'm so glad that you've found the World Pulse community. This is exactly the kind of global online community where you can feel helpful, instead of helpless, and both inspired by others and well as inspiring to others.

A great way to connect quickly to World Pulse members around the globe and to feel like you're working towards a positive vision of the future is to volunteer with us, and I'd highly recommend you look into our Listener role. Community Listeners are World Pulse members who read and comment on community journals, helping to create a thriving, interactive network. Please see the Listener Page on our website for more about the role and how to become one! By reading stories you learn more about women's experiences around the world, the solutions they have, and connect personally with these incredible women change leaders!

    In solidarity, Chelsea

Welcome to World Pulse, Lee Ann. I am greeting you from New Orleans, Louisiana, USA. It is wonderful for the future of our world that you choose to use your many gifts to empower others through education. World Pulse exists to share our strengths with those who need them.

I, too, am a grandmother, retired from having to pursue a living. My work with World Pulse gives me an active role in mentoring women who are making a positive impact on our shared earth. You may enjoy my description of my experience in my journal entry "World Pulse Has Given Me the World"

Your visions are one step closer to achievement when you network in such a strong group of empowered people. You are only one person, but you are smart enough to know that our power is exponential when combined with other powerful people.

You are now a part of a thriving grassroots network of women leaders and supporters from more than 190 countries. I look forward to hearing more of your voice in WorldPulse.

    Continue to be a blessing.
