WHAT A YEAR IT HAS BEEN!

This year has been particularly good for our children's programme SUNRISE AVENUE, KBC TV. We have gone through lots of ups and downs, challenges and upheavals and many were the times I flirted with giving up. I like to call this 'throwing in the towel' which as you know, I can't be caught doing. I just have one reason: I still own one towel and if I throw it, what will I use to dry myself after bathing? Anyway, enough of that commercial break.

All I want to say is that our programme has impacted on the lives of children at school, home, religious centres, children's home and indeed wherever children are to be found. This year we managed to record with children from a mosque and next year we are going to reach out to all children, in their environment. We managed to impact on the lives of childred playing football, drawing, acting, singing and doing other things normally do. We went to schools, churches, mosques, children's homes and even on the streets, just to capture the lives of children.

I wanted to end the year on a giving-note. So we drafted a letter asking for permission and donations for a charity event at Magodo Children's Home in Uhuru Estate, Nairobi. I was so surprised when our request was granted and whats more, other people came on board and its going to be biggere than I thought. The event will be on Wednesday 22nd December 2010. I will post more on this after the event.

We are also going to post more about this event in our Special Xmas Show on Saturday 25th December 2010 in the morning.
