As a young woman, I ventured to Central Mexico and interned at Mississippi's only alternative weekly newspaper. The Southern writer I lived with taught me a life philosophy called “Barefootin'." It means releasing your fears and getting your feet muddy –– being immersed in something deeper than yourself.
Activism, adventures and events make me tick, whether I'm writing about a civic group collecting bras for survivors of sex trafficking, visiting my sister in Cape Town, South Africa, or organizing a social justice karaoke night.
I love meeting new people and building community. Let's connect and share our stories!
