Ghana Leaderful Women Project

19 Oct 2009 - set myself goal to return to Ghana (where I grew up) and find out the answer to my question \"What happened to the women I left behind?\" Declare that I will collect stories of women and their daughters who grew and flourished after Independence.

I have no idea how to bring this about! But I believe in the power of dreams and goals ...

March 2010 - make connection with a young man who is part of a global volunteer team with me. He is based in Accra.
April 2010 - we start to Skype. He puts me in touch with a possible contact who seems interested.
June 2010 - one of my business networking friends suggest a Sponsor-a-Story campaign
July 2010 - Draft project with proper objectives - now it is no longer a dream!
Aug 2010 - a colleague says she will put me in touch with BBC

Fast forward to August 2010 - I now have a project document on the table of a fantastic lady who is very active in NFP. I have an appointment with the founders of the Womens International Trade Centre in UK. We have some dates!
Also an offer of help and advice from Divine Chocolate.
Looks like I will be going out next year.

The project is to collect stories from leaderful women - ones who show vision, courage, resilience, innovation - they are probably not called \"Leaders\", but they make things happen. Then to publish and share these stories back in UK with women entrepreneurs. Raise awareness of women entrepreneurs in ghana, encourage trade links, awareness of gender issues.
I am excited to have those voices heard!
