Introducing myself and my journal: A Woman Like Me

About Me:
A few years ago, at the age of 48, I decided to change my life - in a big way! After more than 20 years on the 9 - 5 hamster wheel, dealing with misogynistic managers, (and a chain of abusive relationships), I made the decision to embark on a journey of TEFLing and self-discovery. Four years on and I know I made the right decision. During that time I've travelled to ten different countries, taught in China, Afghanistan and now Colombia. I've had enormously fulfilling experiences and many opportunities to observe and interact with women from different corners of the globe. What I've seen has both excited and disgusted me in equal amounts, and ignited a new passion - to share the stories of the women that I've encountered along the way.

My Passions:
Social change, women's rights, education,

My Challenges:
To be recognised as a valuable member of society regardless of my age

My Vision for the Future:
To live in a society where women are valued not for their looks or body shapes, but for their contributions to society

My Areas of Expertise:
Education & Training, Welfare to Work,
